Join us for a unique family experience this November. While your children take part in an engaging marine science program, you can relax and enjoy the sun, warm waters of Fiji, and the excellent food and service on Castaway Island.
The Marine Science Camp takes place over 8 days and 7 nights. The camp is done in conjunction with a local environmental organization called the Mamanuca Environment Society (MES).
MES offers a wide variety of age appropriate first-hand studies on Coral Biology, Reef Formation and Endangered Species – including the Turtle Conservation Project. Campers will also have the chance to choose their own individual research projects while on the island.
To encourage cultural enrichment, participants will visit a local Fijian school and village, and also learn about Fijian foods and cooking. The camp curriculum is ideal for children ages 5-15.
Younger children can take advantage of Castaway's renowned Kids Club, which is sure to keep them engaged and immersed in the environment and local culture.
Additional instruction will be given by Kacy Lafferty, who has a Masters in Education and has taught both elementary and middle school in the US and the Central Pacific. Kacy has brought her passion for Marine Science to many children over the past 15 years. Learn more about Kacy.

At Castaway Island, scuba diving is an activity for the whole family. There is something for everyone no matter what level of experience you have. For those that have never tried scuba diving, introductory courses are available – a great way to discover the underwater world. Even children as young as age eight can try diving under the supervision of PADI accredited instructors in the PADI Bubblemakers program.
Castaway also offers the “Castaway Kids Club” providing complimentary service for all children 3 years of age and over from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm, with a separate supervised children's dinner hour from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. The kids will enjoy a mixture of games and experiences with a definite Fiji flavor - loads of fun and entertainment.
