Considered the most dramatic landscape, the Atacama desert in Northern Chile boasts crystal clear air; giving you the opportunity to enjoy all the area has to offer. Explore towards the altiplanos and the volcanoes, and you can truly perceive remoteness, where you will experince an entirely different world. In Atacama it is possible to appreciate the multiple features of their history, villages, salt flat wetlands, and volcanoes.
Explorations in Atacama will allow you to become aquainted with the multiple aspects of this region: its geography, history, fauna, and unique geological features. Explorations have been designed to allow for gradual acclimatization to the altitude. Trekking, horseback riding, bicycling, or high mountain climbing are all available. Each day there are 8-10 different explorations, classified according to duration and difficulty. Groups will be no larger than 10 guests with bilingual guides.
Located in the oasis of San Pedro is the Hotel de Larache. Its accommodations include all that is needed for relaxation and the best means for exploring the Atacama lands. Thirty kilometers from the hotel, at an altitude of 3,100 meters we will find the explora Estancia. Its centerpiece is the Termas de Puritama, where numerous hot springs emerge in this special place.
