This 13-day tour allows you to experience the rich diversity of Australia. From the bustling streets of Sydney, to the formations of Uluru and Ayers Rock, a ride on the world famous Ghan train, the culturally rich Outback, and the lush tropics of Darwin, you’ll get a taste of everything that makes Australia the unique and amazing place that it is.


Itinerary:

Day 1: Sydney As you exit the Arrivals Hall, you will be greeted by a chauffeur from Royal Limousines who will take you to the 4-star Parkroyal Hotel, located on the city-side of Darling Harbor. Your hotel is located centrally, within minutes of the city’s most popular sightseeing destinations. You will enjoy premium accommodations, complete with gymnasium, business center, and a choice of dining options.


Day 2: Sydney Sightseeing You will be picked up at your hotel in the morning to kick off a day of sightseeing. Your tour will include the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the picturesque Northern Suburbs, Wakehurst Parkway, and Narrabeen Lakes. As you make your way to the coast, you’ll be greeted by Mona Vale Beach and you’ll follow the sandstone to take in the beautiful views at Warriewood Headland. Your tour continues to reveal Narrabeen, Collaroy and Dee Why Beach as well as the great links golf course at Long Reef. Driving over Curl Curl Headland, you’ll make your way to Manly Beach to see the surfers and beach volleyball players while you enjoy morning tea, coffee, or hot chocolate with Tim Tams. You’ll make your way back to the city via Manly Cove, Spit Bridge, Balmoral Beach, and the back roads through Mosman, Cremorne, and Neutral Bay. Winding around, you’ll see the historic buildings of Macquarie St, Mrs Mac’s chair, Wooloomooloo Bay, Garden Island, Kings Cross, the Eastern Suburb Bays to Watsons Bay and The Gap, Bondie Beach, and the beautifully restored semi-detached homes with ornate cast iron balustrades of Paddington. Back in the city, the tour will introduce you to Oxford Street, the Spanish Quarter, China Town, and Darling Harbor. Take a stroll down to the Aquarium and then hop back in the car for a cruise past the finger wharves and under the Harbour Bridge, where you’ll find great view of the harbor and the Opera House. Lastly, you’ll visit The Rocks and the financial district before heading back to your hotel.


Day 3: Sydney Leisure Explore, go shopping, or choose an optional sightseeing tour.


Day 4: Sydney to Ayers Rock Travel/Sightseeing You will travel by Sunbus to the airport to begin your journey to Ayers Rock. Once you arrive, you’ll be transferred to your hotel where you can prepare for your afternoon of adventure. You’ll travel to the mystical 36 domes of Kata Tiuta, stopping on the to take in panoramic views of its eastern side. You’ll arrive at the base of Walpa Gorge, where you can follow the natural creek between two of the tallest domes of Kata Tuita and explore the unusual conglomerate rock formations. Travel to Ulura in the late afternoon to witness the striking color changes of the Uluru at sunset and enjoy nibbles and a glass of wine before being transferred back to Desert Gardens Hotel.


Day 5: Uluru to Kings Canyon Sightseeing An early start gets you to the Uluru sunrise viewing area, Talinguru Nyakunytiaku, to catch the first rays of sun setting the red centre alight while you enjoy a warming cup of coffee or tea and biscuits. Join up with your driver guide to travel by coach for a tour around the base of Uluru to Mutitiulu Walk, where you’ll be escorted to the beautiful Mutitiulu Waterhole. View Aboriginal rock paintings, learn about the native flora and Aboriginal and European history of the Uluru, and visit the Uluru-Kata Tiuta Cultural Center to continue your Aboriginal education and to see Aboriginal arts and crafts. On days when the Uluru Climb is open, you may opt to climb Uluru as an alternative to the Uluru Base Tour. You’ll settle in for an evening at the Kings Canyon Resort, where you can view the sun setting behind Carmichaels Crag.


Day 6: Kings Canyon to Alice Springs Travel/Sightseeing This morning, you’ll have two options to start your day. For those with a good level of fitness, a guided climb to the rim of the canyon will offer marvelous views of Watarrka National Park over the course of a 3 hour walk. For those who may wish to start the day off in a less strenuous fashion, you may explore the boulder-strewn canyon floor. You’ll stop at Kings Canyon resort to purchase lunch before traveling by coach to Alice Springs. At the Doubletree by Hilton Alice Springs, you’ll have the unique opportunity to enjoy a resort style holiday while also experiencing the spectacular Red Centre and true Australian outback. Enjoy views of the Mac Donnell Ranges, lounge poolside, visit the gymnasium, spa, or sauna, or have some friendly competition on the tennis courts.


Day 7: Alice Springs Sightseeing Capture the spirit of the outback on a one day 4WD safari through the West MacDonnell Ranges to Hermannsburg, an Aboriginal community and historic precinct renowned for its Aboriginal art collection and the works of Albert Namatjira, where you’ll enjoy either morning or afternoon tea. You’ll travel down the bed of the Finke River into Palm Valley to see spectacular rock formations (such as the Ampitheatre), white sands, and an oasis of rock pools and palm trees. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the Finke Gorge National Park before enjoying the changing colors of the West MacDonnell Range on your journey back.


Day 8: Alice Springs Train Travel Take a shuttle to Ghan and depart Alice Springs at 6pm for a night aboard the Great Southern Railway as you make your way to Darwin. You’ll enjoy dinner in the Queen Adelaide restaurant or enjoy the hospitality of the Outback Explorer Lounge while you swap stories with your fellow travelers.


Day 9: Alice Springs to Darwin Train Travel A stop in Katherine (aka Nitmiluk Gorge) allows you to explore the river-carved, sandstone gorge. Partake in one of 15 optional Whistle stop tours, which include canoeing, gorge cruises, kayaking, and scenic flights among other things. Make the most of your time in Katherine, because at 1pm you’ll be back on the move, enjoying your last meal on board and the changing landscape as the lush, tropical vegetation signals your arrival into Darwin. You’ll be transferred to the DoubleTree by Hilton Esplanade Darwin to rest up for another day of sightseeing.


Day 10: Darwin Sightseeing Meet up with a city sights tour for the perfect introduction to Darwin, complete with expert commentary by a local guide. Visit the Chinese Temple, lush Botanical Gardens, tour the historic sites of the city, see the Stokes Hill Wharf and Mooring Basin, and maybe even take the time to explore the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory. You’ll board your Sunset Dreaming boat at Cullen Bay, where you’ll be welcomed by a Traditional Owner who will provide an interactive cultural experience, complete with a cruise to a sand bar or beach to try your hand at spear throwing, playing a didgeridoo, and creating traditional Aboriginal craft items.


Day 11: Darwin to Kakadu Sightseeing Travel by coach across the Adelaide River and Marrakai Plains and deep into the belly of Kakadu National Park, where you’ll take a guided walk to view ancient Aboriginal rock art at Nourlangie Rock. After lunch, climb aboard the famous Yellow Water Billabong Cruise to view saltwater crocodiles and the colorful range of prolific bird life that this region is renowned for. Continue your cultural immersion by visiting the Warradian Aboriginal Cultural Centre, with its informative displays and exhibits depicting the traditions of the Aboriginal people. An optional 50-minute scenic flight is available for those wishing to add to their experience before being transferred to Gagugiu Crocodile Holiday Inn.


Day 12: Kakadu to Darwin Before you return to the DoubleTree by Hilton Esplanade Darwin by coach, you will have the opportunity to stop at Ubirr and take a short walk to view rock art. You’ll join an Aboriginal guide on the Guluvambi Cruise along the East Alligator River and, with the special permission of the local people, go ashore in Arnhem Land and visit the Bowali Visitor Centre.


Day 13: Depart Darwin Your Australian adventure had to end sometime. You’ll take the shuttle from your hotel to the airport to begin your journey home.
