Location and Logistics
The nearest airport is San Diego (32 miles). The hotel’s complimentary shuttle (1.5 hours) operates 4 scheduled Saturday pick-ups (8AM, 10AM, 12:15PM and 2:45PM) from the San Diego Airport to the ranch. The journey is mostly on US paved roads with just the last 3.3 miles in Mexico. The Tecate border crossing is easy and straightforward. A valid passport is required to enter Mexico. For mid-week or late arrivals we can set up transfers via a third party vendor.
What To Know
Standard programs are Saturday to Saturday. Short stays (when available) are Saturday to Wednesday (4-nights) and Wednesday to Saturday (3 nights). Rancho La Puerta caters to adults but offers a Family Week at the Ranch for a family-friendly summer camp-style adventure!
Complimentary wi-fi is available in the main lounge and will not likely be accessible in your room, so plan on limited time to connect.
Alcohol is limited to wine which is offered complimentary at the welcome reception and the farewell dinner on Friday. Wine is available for purchase throughout the week at Bazaar Del Sol, a café with a lovely patio where you can enjoy your wine. Wine can also be purchased to take back to your room.
