The Best of Sydney, Ayers Rock, and Cairns

This 9 day package is the ultimate Australian getaway and designed for the free spirited adventure traveler. Visit Sydney, Ayers Rock, and Cairns while enjoying some "must do" excursions in each destination.


Day 1: Welcome to Sydney, Australia
On arrival in Sydney, meet your transfer company and head to your hotel. Enjoy your afternoon at leisure relaxing from your flight or explore the city on your own.
Overnight: Travelodge Wynyard (or similar)

Day 2: Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb
Today you will make your way to the Rocks District where you begin your climbing adventure. Suit up for the ‘climb of your life’ and enjoy spectacular views from the top of world famous Sydney Harbour Bridge. The climb is moderate and you will enjoy informative commentary from your guide as you ascend the bridge. The remainder of the afternoon is at your leisure to explore the city at your own pace.(B)

Day 3: Blue Mountains National Park
In the morning, your guide will pick you up at your hotel. This small group eco tour explores the unique Blue Mountains World Heritage Region. First stop is at Featherdale Wildlife Park where you will meet and interact with native Australian animals. You will be able to pet a koala and hand feed kangaroos, wallabies & emus. Once arriving to the Blue Mountain National Park your guide will take you to more remote look-out locations where they will share their wide range of local knowledge about the history, flora, fauna, and viewpoints like the famous Three Sisters. Before enjoying a two course meal at Katoomba Golf Club, you will see the beautiful waterfalls at Govetts Leap. The last stop before returning to Sydney will be at Waradah Aboriginal Centre where you will gain insight on the native Aboriginal people and culture. (B, L)

Day 4: Sydney to Ayers Rock
Enjoy Breakfast before being picked up and transferred to the airport for your flight to Ayers Rock. On arrival in Ayers Rock, transfer to your hotel for check in. Early this evening you will get to enjoy the sundowner dinner, Sound of Silence. This unique dining experience offers 360 degrees views of Uluru and the domes of Kata Tjuta while enjoying an authentic Australian BBQ. After the sun sets enjoy the star gazing of the southern night sky before transferring back to your hotel. (B, D)

Day 5: Desert Awakenings, Sunrise Tour
Early this morning you will enjoy the views of the stars before watching the sunrise over Uluru and Kata Tjuta on a private dune. You will enjoy a traditional bushman’s breakfast over a fire while your guide explains the natural history of the region, animals, and landscapes. Then you will get the chance to explore Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park where you will learn about the Anangu people, their stories along and ancient rock paintings.

Day 6: Ayers to Cairns
Enjoy Breakfast before transferring to the airport for your flight to Cairns. On arrival in Cairns, meet your transfer and make your way to the hotel for check-in. (B)

Day 7: Great Barrier Reef
Today explore one of the World’s Largest Coral reefs. Depart from Cairns on a catamaran exploring the outer reef locations on Great Barrier Reef. You will have the opportunity to Snorkel in the sheltered coral lagoon, go scuba diving, or join the Marine Biologist on a Guided Snorkel safari. Also get another perspective of the reef from the semi-submersible reef viewer, glass bottom boat or underwater observatory. (B, L)

Day 8: Cape Tribulation, Daintree & Mossman Gorge
Today explore the rainforest and amazing landscapes of the Daintree and Cape Tribulation National Parks wilderness area in this small group eco tour. Your day’s journey begins on one of Australia’s scenic Highways before arriving at Mossman Gorge. Your expert eco guide will take you for a guided walk sharing their knowledge of this enchanting rainforest environment and wildlife (birds, tree snakes, and crocodile). Walk on this world-renowned rainforest beach admiring the coastline and fringing coral reef from the Kulki Lookout. After enjoying a tropical lunch enjoy the spectacular lookout over the Daintree River estuary, Snapper Island and beyond to the Coral Sea. Re-cross the mighty Daintree River by cable ferry - one of the last of its kind!

Day 9: Depart Australia
Today, transfer to the Cairns Airport for your flight to Sydney where you will board your connecting flight home.
